Also called Battle: LA it was sort of like Independence Day 4 meets District 9, and I say that loosely because the movie’s plots aren’t too similar. Of the two, ID4 had a closer plot to Battle: LA.

The combat scenes were pretty intense even though the movie garnered a PG-13 rating, and in the beginning scenes of the movie the mysterious Aliens are not shown. For me, the movie was very good at creating suspense and an air of mystery surrounding the Marine’s enemy and how devastating the Alien attacks and tactics are.

Here’s a summary from IMDB (click the link for more info):

A Marine Staff Sergeant who has just had his retirement approved goes back into the line of duty in order to assist a 2nd Lieutenant and his platoon as they fight to reclaim the city of Los Angeles from alien invaders.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra garnered a PG-13 rating for strong action sequences of violence and mayhem throughout. The second movie this year to be ripped out of the hands of its younger audience by Paramount with a PG-13 rating. Understandably, the approach is to the widest audience which includes those who grew up on GI Joe, but the youngins are gonna have to sit this one out.

The Joes and Cobra are treated to a super-upgrade of technology since the last cartoons I saw as a kid. If you can, I would recommend checking out the movie, even if you aren’t a GI Joe Fan since you will also be able to follow the story line and enjoy the hi-tech super-battles that permeate the movie.

Check out the Official GI Joe: Rise of Cobra site.

The movie’s rating of PG 13 makes it appropriate for most of the family, and will likely result in more visitors than usual at the Smithsonian Institution this summer.

This funny movie is worth watching and features some amazing stars and American History. Oh, I never found any cool maps of the Smithsonian Institution National Archives, so if you did, please drop a comment below.

TERMINATOR SALVATION – A MUST SEE FOR TERMINATOR FANS

It seems I’m in a minority group with those who thought Terminator Salvation was a great BLAST of a movie. There was very little I didn’t like about the movie, and I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about it.

The ever-important John Connor has grown up, Skynet has come to life and executed Judgment day and mankind struggles to survive. Terminator Salvation is set in the future of the first 3 Terminator movies and after we’ve lost the battle to destroy Skynet before it comes to life. As evidenced in the trailer below, everything in the future is not as had previously been known… it seems Skynet has used its travels to the past to gather intelligence.

Maybe like me you listen to music on YouTube, I sometimes refer to it as my YouTube Radio or Youtubio. Now some music and video game YouTube movies will have advertising at the bottom of the viewing window where the movie plays. Says the Gmail Blog:

Today [October 7, 2008], we’re taking our first steps to providing YouTube users with this kind of instant gratification, by adding “click-to-buy” links to the watch pages of thousands of YouTube partner videos. Click-to-buy links are non-obtrusive retail links, placed on the watch page beneath the video with the other community features. Just as YouTube users can share, favorite, comment on, and respond to videos quickly and easily, now users can click-to-buy products — like songs and video games — related to the content they’re watching on the site. We’re getting started by embedding iTunes and Amazon.com links on videos from companies like EMI Music, and providing Amazon.com product links to the newly-released video game Spore(TM) on videos from Electronic Arts.

Now, if the price is right for those purchases that will be great, I already buy MP3′s from Amazon.com. Go YouTube! Here’s a good example of a YouTube wil embedded advertising:
