I have Type 2 Diabetes and saw my nutritionist today, its the first visit in a long time. It was a re-education visit for me, and I will be going roughly monthly.
Here’s what I learned, and this applies to me (disclaimer) and is tailored to my needs:
- start watching carbs with an eye toward weight loss in order to bring my type 2 diabetes under better control
- stop my current meal replacement shakes and switch to EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control (ready-to-drink)
- aim for 45-60 grams of Carbohydrates per meal
- look at Stevia, which is supposed to be a good replacement for sugar and is natural
- record what I eat
- look up fast food I eat online
