Like I said before Gmail rocks! Now they’ve (almost) added themes, so I can now choose different themes for different browsers. Since I mainly use about 6 browsers on 3 different computers that’s really cool for me. Also this should let me see at-a-glance whether our laptop is logged into my wife’s Gmail or mine - yes I *could* just read the email address as Gmail loads but that’s less fun and certainly not worth a post here!
Okay, so here are this blogger’s early on favorites:

I’m more than happy using Gina Trappini’s Better Gmail2, along with Google Redesigned from Globex Designs. That combination gives extra functionality within Firefox, and I don’t use any other browser for Gmail/Google Calender in any case. Having looked at these new themes, while some of them look pretty, that’s about all they do. In other words they are eye candy. Now, on a public facing website this can be important, but on a machine that only I see, it doesn’t matter a jot!
I am aware that these themes will show up on IE for example, but I only ever use IE for testing purposes and never ever as a working browser, as it’s too darn slow, and insecure in any case (even IE8).
Chrome is ok, and fast, but until Google allow it to have the plug-in functionality of Firefox, it’s not going to get much use here either.

I like Globex Designs Gmail Redesigned as well, but I like a change now and again. I hope that Google works on other parts of their themes beyond the backgrounds and other limited colors changes already added.

Since I use Chrome these days to read GMail, it’s an amazing feature for me
From the themes, my favorite right now is Beach. It nicely blends into different color schemes with time
Would love to know which ones you like. Check out my post here!
