Google Calendar was the answer to my search for a way to better manage important events from more places. Google Calendar gives me the flexibility of managing my calendar from anywhere there’s a computer with Internet access.
The Google Calendar team recently made some improvements based on user feedback, and posted Little things that matter on the Gmail Blog. Here are some highlights, visit the Gmail blog for more details:
- more flexibility when emailing people invited to a meeting – maybe the venue has changed, instead of having that office in the conference room you’ve decided to have it at a local restaurant, or you’ve decided to cover new material and need to let everyone know to bring those reports – you can now email anyone regardless of their response status (yes, maybe, no, awaiting response), and you can send a copy to yourself. Who knows, maybe some of those No and Maybe responses will change when the meeting is moved out of the office, eh?
- more flexibility with reminder times – maybe you want to be reminded about an appointment 5 minutes prior, or 12 minutes, 2 hours, 23 hours, 2 days? Whatever, the newly renovated interface you can now choose a reminder in the form of an email or a pop-up, then specify a number of minutes, hours or days, very nice
- easier to add friend’s calendars – type the person’s name you want to add in the “Add a friend’s calendar” and Google Calendar will check your Gmail address book
- easier event creation – space has been added to make it easier to drag events into adjacent slots
